So you want to be a Web Developer?

We are looking for a Web Developer to join our Technical team. You’ll work closely with our Product Managers, UX Designers, Testers and Creatives to produce enviable websites, interactives, apps, and games.

We’d love to have you come work with us in our beautiful Edinburgh office (when we are able to return), but we’d also consider filling the position either partially, or fully via remote working if you're based in the UK.

Our clients include: National Trust for Scotland, Glasgow Film Theatre, Royal Academy of Music, Visit Scotland, Mary's Meals, and the Scottish Government.

Here is a list of buzzwords to give you a flavour:

LAMP, Craft CMS, Laravel, HTML5, jQuery, Webpack, Gulp, ES2016, Node, SASS, PHP, Composer, Varnish, Capistrano, macOS, GIT, Basecamp, JIRA, Slack.

Skills Required

  • Technical degree or equivalent work/life experience
  • Excellent English written and verbal communications
  • Experience hand-coding standards compliant, accessible, and semantically correct HTML
  • Browser testing
  • Neat, efficient CSS
  • Responsive Web Design techniques
  • Modern Javascript
  • Modern PHP including frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony alongside MySQL
  • CMS knowledge - Craft, Drupal, Wordpress, or Joomla!
  • Working understanding of caching and performance concepts
  • Experience using deployment tools
  • Experience using Sketch/Figma/Adobe XD or similar
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise
