Frances Irvine, Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Whitespace said “We will create an inclusive culture where all talent thrives. We will champion meaningful progress in diversity, equity and inclusion for our people, clients and partners.”

We believe that diverse perspectives fuel creativity and drive innovation and we’re intent on driving systemic change for a future where we have a fair and equitable workplace representing the societies in which we operate. We work hard to encourage our people to bring their authentic selves to work.

Within the UK market, we have established our own Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council, which includes members of our executive leadership team along with representatives from our employee networks, to drive progress across our business.

To support our vision we have also created a new DEI strategy, policy and a pledge:

  • Our DEI Strategy outlines our DEI goals and priorities and how we aim to drive change for our people, our clients and our society.
  • Our DEI Policy sets out our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and is designed to help our people understand what it means to work in an inclusive environment.
  • Our DEI Pledge is an opportunity for employees and clients to formally make a commitment to the development of a more inclusive workplace.

At Whitespace we stand together against bias and discrimination. We acknowledge our privilege and consider how we can use it for a positive outcome. We have set up a number of belonging networks to allow our people to focus their efforts on causes that are close to their heart.

Our champions volunteer their time to celebrate and cultivate the diverse perspectives across our business to help drive positive change. Each group has their own set of goals, and their aim is to help foster a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive because of who they.

Here’s a bit more about our ‘Belonging’ Groups…

&Proud: our LGBTQIA+ and allies network, designed to champion inclusion and positive change across all areas of the business.

One: promotes and celebrates gender equality across our business and beyond. It is an agent for change and above all, inclusive to all. It is not just about driving one agenda or gender.

Represent: our ethnic diversity network for multi-ethnic employees and allies to have a space within the business to listen, learn and share their experiences.

Parents and Carers: a group that champions our family friendly business. We believe in a 21st century approach to agile and flexible working. We also offer enhanced shared parental leave to support a work life balance for everyone.

Social Impact: is our strategy to conquer the ‘digital divide’, and to use ideas and data to highlight opportunities, inequalities, innovations and solutions to society’s greatest challenges.

Wellbeing: the wellbeing of our people is extremely important to us. Our wellbeing ambassadors run programmes of support for everyone around mental, physical and financial wellbeing.
