How Valtti painted themselves out of a corner
Valtti Specialist Coatings is the leading trade paint supplier in Scotland, despite a quarter of a century’s avoidance of marketing of any kind. So it was a big leap to not only look at the company’s branding and identity but also to jump head first into the online world with a website that not only showcased products but acted as an online shop too.
But that’s exactly what the family firm asked Whitespace to do when son of the founder, Jamie Hancox, took over the reins in 2007. His view was that the company required a complete brand makeover with a website that would affirm the values of the company and the forward thinking nature of the business.

The effects were immediate. Backed by a modest Pay Per Click advertising campaign, the firm’s shop sales grew from virtually zero to pay for the whole rebranding and online launch in a matter of months, whilst also opening its doors to a whole new retail audience and paving the way for the launch of a new interiors paint range.
