Here at Whitespace HQ, we all have a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for hot dogs. And so, our senior creative Neil D. Walker recently carried out a series of workshops explaining the ins and outs of how to produce a production – mainly a TV commercial. Using GIFs, clips, examples and even role-play.

The lunchtime sessions answered all those questions that some of us have always wondered like – what exactly does DOP stand for and what do they do? What is the point of the clapperboard thingy before each take? And why does it take so many people to film one wee thing?

As an added incentive (not that we needed any of course) those attending enjoyed thematic hotdogs and popcorn.  On further reflection, Neil kind of wished he popped in a chicken tortilla, allowing him to shout out “THAT’S A WRAP!”
