In early 2015 we were issued an exciting challenge by VisitScotland: bring to life the experience of a ‘real’ ceilidh.
The aim was to capture the energy, the fun, the camaraderie – spreading the joy of ceilidhs to a global audience!
Working with Cut Media, one dark October eve we descended upon the village of Fintry transforming the local hall into a ceilidh celebration – filming it all with a specially created POV helmet rig.
The ‘Real Ceilidh’ site was then created which allows the viewer to switch between ‘joining the dance’ to a third person view. The viewer can also follow the story through the two main characters, as they get ready, meet at the dance and auld lang syne with the best of them.
Featuring infectiously uplifting music from Whisky Kiss, the site is also packed full of tips, facts & animated dance steps to help even the most novice ceilidhier feel inspired & ready to take part!
